Sweet William is a semi-hardy cool weather short-lived perennial/biennial flower that is native to Southern Europe but can be commonly found growing mainly throughout the eastern United States. When mature, this plant can reach a height of 18-24”. It features upright stems, 3-6” long lance-shaped grayish-green leaves, and fragrant white flowers that have a purplish-red ring and starred center. This plant can be grown in containers, attracts bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, moths, and songbirds, is resistant to deer, tolerates drought and heat, is edible, and is used as a cut flower!
