Sweet William is a semi hardy cool weather short lived perennial/biennial flower that is native to the Southern Europe but can be commonly found growing mainly throughout the eastern United States. At maturity, this plant reaches the height of 18-24” and features upright stems, 3-6” long lance-shaped grayish-green leaves, and fragrant purplish-red flowers that have a white ring and starred center. This plant can be grown in containers, attracts bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, moths, and songbirds, is resistant to deer, tolerates drought and heat, is edible, and is great as a cut flower!
